P&G and Feeding America: Fighting Hunger

Every day, 13 million children in the United States risk going hungry. But P&G is partnering with Feeding America to help change that, providing support through a number of efforts aligned with our Live, Learn and Thrive cause.

For instance, P&G supports Feeding America’s efforts to provide after-school meals to hungry children at “Kids Cafés” around the country. We also support their “BackPack” program, which provides meals to children over the weekend and during extended breaks during the school year.  Without this support, these children would likely not receive a nutritious meal between their free school lunch on Friday and their free school breakfast the following Monday morning.

Most recently, P&G supported Feeding America in partnership with one of our retail partners, Kroger, as part of a campaign called “Bringing Hope to the Table.” In more than 3,000 Kroger stores across 30 states, consumer purchases of P&G products helped support Feeding America’s mission.  P&G and Kroger employees even joined forces to sort 15,000 pounds of food at the Freestore Foodbank near Cincinnati, where both companies’ headquarters are located. “Bringing Hope to the Table” ultimately helped feed more than 3 million children.

Finally, just last year, P&G contributed nearly 30 million pounds of product and more than $1.5 million in support of Feeding America’s effort to provide meals to children in need.
